'View' co-hosts defend S.E. Cupp over Hustler photo

NEW YORK, Oct. 11 (UPI) -- Tyler Perry's "Don't Make a Black Woman Take Off Her Earrings" received the Quill Award for book of the year as selected by U.S. readers.
The book is based on Tyler's stage character of an African-American grandmother who spouts off-the-cuff observations about families and life in general.
The work was among the many awards handed out Tuesday night in New York. Other Quills went to Caroline Kennedy, Nora Roberts, Maya Angelou and Al Gore. Julie Power won the Debut Author of the Year Quill for "Julie and Julia."
The award for best book adapted for the screen went to "The Devil Wears Prada" while "If You Give a Big Party" was selected best children's book.
