NEW YORK, Oct. 10 (UPI) -- The U.S. film industry group ShowEast Tuesday named actor, director and screenwriter Christopher Guest as the recipient of its Kodak Award.
Guest will be honored during the 2006 ShowEast Convention, Oct. 23-26, at the Orlando (Fla.) World Center Marriott, The Hollywood Reporter said.
ShowEast will also screen Guest's newest film from Warner Independent Pictures, "For Your Consideration," which was a recent Toronto International Film Festival selection, The Reporter said.
"There is perhaps no one working in our industry today who captures the day-to-day natural feel, nuances and language of everyday people with such uproarious comical results (as) Christopher Guest," ShowEast's Mitch Neuhauser said in announcing the Kodak honor.
Guest, the husband of actress Jamie Lee Curtis, includes among his many film credits "This is Spinal Tap," "Best in Show," "Waiting for Guffman" and "A Mighty Wind."
