DMX charged with more traffic violations

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., Oct. 10 (UPI) -- New York rapper Earl Simmons, aka DMX, had his SUV impounded after police found it was uninspected and he was driving with a suspended license and registration.

The 35-year-old Yonkers, N.Y., native "was fully cooperative" when he was stopped Monday afternoon, Lt. Henry Cetina of the Westchester County police, told the White Plains (N.Y.) Journal.

DMX was charged with a misdemeanor because his registration was suspended due to parking violations and he was ticketed for driving without a license or the required inspection of his 2001 Chevrolet Suburban.

He was ordered to appear in White Plains City Court Dec. 18.

Simmons was ticketed for driving without a license in June and also charged with speeding, making an unsafe lane change and a seatbelt violation.

He rejected a plea bargain that would have called for a $25,000 fine, the Journal said.

"I don't feel good about this at all," he at the time. "It's not fair -- $25,000 for traffic tickets? Come on. Let's keep it real."
