MLB playoffs force Fox schedule changes

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 6 (UPI) -- The Fox network has made key scheduling changes for some of its new TV series until the Major League Baseball playoffs conclude airing across the United States.

With the first of the scheduling alterations set to take place Oct. 23, the network is aiming at boosting ratings for many of its freshman dramas by switching their broadcast times to more reliable ratings slots, said Zap2it.com.

The changes will begin with the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced series "Justice" finding a new home on Mondays in the 9 p.m. ET slot as opposed to its former Wednesday locale, which offers the legal drama a chance to garner ratings from its lead-in series, "Prison Break."

Other changes will include the hit series "House" dropping down to 9 p.m. on Tuesdays, which will have the medical series be partnered with the crime drama "Standoff" at 8 p.m.

The Web site said that while ratings-challenged newcomer "Vanished" will move to Fridays, the same night that Fox will debut "Trading Spouses: Meet Your New Mommy" on Oct. 20.
