Another lawsuit filed against R. Kelly

CHICAGO, Oct. 5 (UPI) -- One of R. Kelly's former employees has filed a lawsuit against the R&B singer, claiming that he was beaten at Kelly's Olympia Field, Ill., home.

The man filing the suit, Henry Love Vaughn, is also suing for "breach of verbal contract," claiming that Kelly failed to come through on a promise to pay for Vaughn's help in the creation of Kelly's song "Steppin' in the Name of Love," the Chicago Sun-Times reported Thursday.

The Olympia Fields police said that Vaughn's claims have been investigated and they do not intend to file charges.

Vaughn said he was invited to watch the NBA All-Star Game on Feb. 19, where he commented on one of Kelly's daughters dancing on a pool table. He claims he was attacked by one of Kelly's friends after making the comment, the Sun-Times said.

Levy told police that Vaughn was drunk and had to be subdued and that Kelly's children were upstairs asleep, the newspaper said. Vaughn disputes being drunk.

"His lawsuit is a pathetic collection of half-truths, distortions and outright lies," Kelly spokesman Allan Mayer told the Sun-Times.
