LAS VEGAS, Oct. 3 (UPI) -- The Killers went for the jugular to make a big-sounding second album.
"It's just kind of no-holds barred, just throw it all away and do what comes naturally for us -- to make a big (sound)," frontman Brandon Flowers says of the group's new "Sam's Town," the follow-up to 2004's "Hot Fuss," which sold 5 million copies worldwide.
"It's fun and exciting; that's what rock 'n' roll music should be."
The Killers' sophomore album was produced by Flood and Alan Moulder, whose combined credits include U2, Smashing Pumpkins, Depeche Mode, nine inch nails and more.
The Las Vegas quartet performs Wednesday and Thursday on ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" and begins a North American tour Friday with a two-night stand at the Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles.
