NEW YORK, Oct. 1 (UPI) -- British actress Elizabeth Hurley made passengers of a New York ferry wait 20 minutes while she tried take champagne on board, a report says.

The Mail on Sunday reported the 41-year-old had attempted to board the ferry on Liberty Island and flew into a rage when operators told her she could not bring a magnum of champagne onto the vessel.

Eventually the "Bedazzled" actress gave up her attempt and turned over the champagne to ferry officials, The Mail said.

The alleged New York incident was not the first public outburst for the former girlfriend of actor Hugh Grant.

The paper said that back in 2003, Hurley berated British Airways staff after they refused to move Arun Nayar, her Indian tycoon boyfriend, to first class.

"Do you know who I am? I bloody demand that he is upgraded," the "Serving Sara" star reportedly screamed. "Don't you know he's a millionaire?"
