SAN JOSE, Calif., Sept. 28 (UPI) -- This weekend in cities across America, a series of TiVo Tasting Parties are set to take place to expose people to the abilities of the popular TV recorder.

A news release from the technology company said on Saturday, more than 1,000 current TiVo subscribers will host one of the parties and allow friends and acquaintances the opportunity to learn more about the increasingly popular TV tool.

"We believe in the power of persuasion and the power of the TiVolution." said TiVo exec Katie Ho. "For years we've heard from our TiVo subscribers that they were hosting TiVo parties on their own. TiVo Tasting Parties will allow our diverse and passionate subscribers to spread the message that TiVo provides the best way to watch TV."

The release said each TiVo Series2 party host will be provided with a special two-hour block of programming filled with numerous premieres to help attract new users to the service including the new trailers for the upcoming animated film "Arthur & The Invisibles" and the Bobby Kennedy assassination production,"Bobby."
