LOS ANGELES, Sept. 28 (UPI) -- Despite a poor performance on ABC's "Dancing with the Stars," U.S. talk show host Jerry Springer survived this week's cut while actor Harry Hamlin did not.

TV Squad reported that after Tuesday's episode of the reality TV series, Hamlin, best known for his work on "L.A. Law," along with his professional partner Ashley DelGrosso, were voted off, allowing Springer to survive for another round.

Meanwhile, contestant Karina Smirnoff and former "Saved by the Bell" actor Mario Lopez managed to make it to the next round as well despite Smirnoff having a pinched nerve she suffered hours before their performance.

"We were kind of rushing to do the dress rehearsal and during the pull-out, a part of my rib twisted in and pinched a nerve," Smirnoff said to Us Magazine. "I don't even know what that means -- I just know it hurt like crazy! But the doctor cracked me and said I should be fine in three to four days."
