LOS ANGELES, Sept. 28 (UPI) -- Comedian David Spade is set to join the cast of "Rules of Engagement," a new TV comedy from Adam Sandler's Happy Madison Prods. of Hollywood.

The new CBS series will loosely reunite the two former "Saturday Night Live" stars as Spade takes on the role of a single man in search of a relationship in the comedy. Sandler's Sony Pictures TV-based company will produce, said Daily Variety.

The Sony and CBS Par Network TV-produced series will focus on five friends in various stages of romantic relationships and will also star Patrick Warburton, Oliver Hudson and Megyn Price.

Daily Variety said that Spade, who in addition to his time on "SNL" previously starred on "Just Shoot Me," is still awaiting word whether or not his Comedy Central series "The Showbiz Show" will be picked up for a third season.
