Busy Johansson to join royalty for 'Scots'

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 28 (UPI) -- Scarlett Johansson has added yet another Hollywood production to her busy schedule by agreeing to portray the lead royalty in the film "Mary Queen of Scots."

IGN FilmForce reported that the 21-year-old actress, who can currently be seen in "The Black Dahlia," has agreed to portray the famed Scottish queen in the upcoming $30 million production, marking the most recent of several projects Johansson has signed onto.

To date, Johansson has agreed to offer her acting talents to the drama "The Other Boleyn Girl," the crime thriller "Brilliant," the historical film "Napoleon and Betsy," and will take on the persona of a female gladiator for the film "Amazon."

The Web site said that filming for "Scots" is tentatively scheduled for next summer as the production has yet to acquire a director, but when filming begins Johansson will be reunited with her mother, Melanie, who is taking on production duties for the drama.
