Bob Seger confirms fall tour rumors

DETROIT, Sept. 28 (UPI) -- Detroit rocker Bob Seger has confirmed he will indeed take to the road with a new tour later this year in support of his recent "Face the Promise" album.

After months of tour rumors, Seger finally confirmed beginning the second week of November, he will begin his new tour and named Grand Rapids, Mich., as a likely starting point, the Detroit Free Press reports.

According to Nielsen SoundScan figures, the 61-year-old's "Face the Promise" album has retained its No. 1 spot in the Detroit market for the second straight week while it dropped from fourth to 11th on the organization's national music chart.

The paper said the "Night Moves" singer also revealed his new tour will feature December appearances at Michigan's Palace of Auburn Hills and Joe Louis Arena.
