Britain will be represented at the Oct. 13-21 festival by director Shane Meadows' aptly-titled drama "This is England," while the Turkish film culture will be present in the form of Reha Erdem's "Times and Winds."

All of the festival's 16 top films will be in the running for the event's top prize, the Marco Aurelio, which will be awarded to the film that gathers the most votes from 50 selected average cinema goers.

ANSA said that the Roman festival will also offer its share of celebrities with actresses Nicole Kidman and Monica Bellucci already signed up to appear at various film premieres.
