Stones guitarist surveys solo career

LONDON, Sept. 26 (UPI) -- Being part of the Rolling Stones has made it hard for guitarist Ron Wood to have a life outside the band.

Wood has released several solo albums but he said "people always overlook my stuff." He's hoping to correct that a bit with the release of "Ronnie Wood Anthology: Crossexion," a two-CD retrospective that chronicles his own releases as well as his work with the Birds, the Creation, the Jeff Beck Group, the Faces and the Stones.

"I know I've made some great contributions in the past," Wood said, "and this 'Crossexion' album is a little offering of some of the stuff I've done, and I'm very proud of it over the years."
