LOS ANGELES, Sept. 21 (UPI) -- Singer/actress Jessica Simpson has revealed that she will be starring in a remake of "Working girl," called "Blonde Ambition."

Simpson is happy to be working on new projects after a stressful year, she told Extra in Los Angeles Tuesday at the premiere of her new film "Employee of the Month." She co-stars with Dane Cook.

"I feel wonderful tonight," the singer said during the interview. "I feel just free and fresh."

Simpson also told Extra that she is ready to start getting out and having fun again.

"I just shot a video a few days ago called 'I Belong to Me,'" she said. "It was a very emotional time for me, and I think the people will experience what I've been experiencing for the past year when they watch it."

All the pop starlet would say about her upcoming "Working Girl" remake was that she couldn't wait to do it.

"I'm so excited about it," she said. "People are going to laugh."

"Employee of the Month" debuts in theaters Oct. 6.
