LAS VEGAS, Sept. 21 (UPI) -- The season premiere of CBS's "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" will revolve around a murder investigation at the Cirque De Soliel in Las Vegas.

The theater where the show takes place is the prefect crime scene, said "CSI" star Marg Helgenberger. It ends up being the murder scene of an aspiring actor who died in a way that confuses star William Peterson's character's mind, CBS reported.

"I think it's tied into his needing to figure out explanations for everything," said Peterson, who plays Gil Grissom, in an interview with CBS "The Early Show" co-anchor Julie Chen. "I think he has a belief in the mystical. But he would never share that and, so, he is interested in finding out what the reality is all the time, and what really happens, and how can I explain this away."

The seventh season premiere also features John Mayer in a performance, with his music setting the mood for Helgenberger's character Catherine Willows, and George Eads' character Nick Stokes to do some late-night dancing.
