Rolling Stones kick off latest tour

LONDON, Sept. 20 (UPI) -- The Rolling Stones, starting another leg on their latest tour, are in better shape than ever these days, guitarist Ron Wood says.

The Rolling Stones kick off a 19-show North American tour Wednesday in Foxboro, Mass., continuing the "A Bigger Bang" jaunt it began in the fall of 2005.

Wood said he's "loving where it is musically" and credits the band's resurgence with an improved relationship between Stones leaders Mick Jagger and Keith Richards.

"I think it comes from Mick and Keith getting back together again, like, as friends, with no bull--," said Wood, adding that he sometimes has to play intermediary between the two. "They just realized after all these years they're still pals and they still create great songs and great music."

The Stones' tour wraps up Nov. 18 in Los Angeles and the group is considering some European dates for 2007.
