NEW YORK, Sept. 20 (UPI) -- Julio Iglesias has recorded an album in English for the first time in 12 years.
The Spanish-born Iglesias' new album, "Romantic Classics," is his first release in English since "Crazy" in 1994. In the interim, Iglesias, who's sold more than 250 million albums worldwide, focused on singing in other languages, including Spanish, French, German and Italian.
"I've been around the world all that time, doing my other (languages)," Iglesias said. "I didn't have that clear an idea what I wanted to do (in English).
"Then the record company came to me and said, 'Well, it's about time you did an album in English.' they excited me. They provoked me. I feel like they're really behind this."
"Romantic Classics" includes covers of songs by the Bee Gees, Wham!, Foreigner, the Cars and Willie Nelson.
