NEW YORK, Sept. 20 (UPI) -- The Metropolitan Opera began giving away 3,000 tickets Wednesday to the final dress rehearsal of "Madama Butterfly."
Tickets were distributed two per customer on a first-come, first-served basis for Friday's rehearsal performance of the new production directed by Anthony Minghella, the New York Post said Wednesday.
The rehearsal performance is part of the Met's first Open House, when visitors can meet the director, designers and singers, tour the art gallery and stroll on that grand stage, the newspaper said.
