Teen star McCartney looks for older sound

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 19 (UPI) -- Jesse McCartney sought to make more mature music on his second album, "Right Where You Want Me."

"It's still a pop record, but it's an older-sounding record, I think," said McCartney, who co-wrote 11 of the album's 12 songs. "It's the difference between being 15 and 19. There're a few tracks on the record you can sink your teeth into and relate to."

One of those songs is "Invincible," which deals with the death of one of McCartney's close friends in a drunken-driving accident.

McCartney was a member of the pop group Dream Street before landing a role on the TV drama "Summerland." His solo debut, 2004's "Beautiful Soul," went platinum and won three Teen Choice Awards.
