Whitney Houston separates from Bobby Brown

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 13 (UPI) -- Singer Whitney Houston has filed for a legal separation from Bobby Brown and plans to get a divorce, "Access Hollywood" reported Wednesday.

A source close to Houston said Brown was served with legal documents Tuesday that will eventually lead to an end to their 14-year marriage, "Access Hollywood" reported.

The couple were the centerpiece of the Bravo TV reality show, "Being Bobby Brown." They have one daughter, Bobbi Kristina, 13.

Houston plans to officially file for divorce next month.
