British town in fear of Schiffer's dogs

NORWICH, England, Sept. 8 (UPI) -- Neighbors of model Claudia Schiffer and her husband in the British town of Stanningfield are in an uproar after the couple's two huge dogs became violent.

Local authorities want to talk to Schiffer and her husband, film producer Matthew Vaughn, about recent attacks reportedly made by the couple's German shepherd and Irish wolfhound, the Independent reported.

Town citizens have issued numerous complaints to police over the dogs' aggressive behavior, which included a vicious attack on an older dog walking by the couple's estate. Despite previous warnings, the couple has not controlled the dogs' behavior, the newspaper said.

"The dogs are still getting out and can be quite aggressive," said one neighbor. "The wolfhound is worse because it is the size of a small pony. She charges at people barking and puts her head close to yours."

The paper said the 36-year-old German supermodel and her husband, who is now known as Matthew de Vere Drummond, have claimed the dogs are harmless and that they are kept in an enclosed area on their estate.
