Sara Gilbert to star in 'The Class'

NEW YORK, Sept. 6 (UPI) -- Former "Roseanne" co-star Sara Gilbert is set to star in upcoming episodes of the new CBS comedy, "The Class."

Gilbert, who is best known for her role as the sarcastic daughter on the classic comedy "Roseanne," joins the comedy from "Friends" co-creator David Crane and "Mad About You's" Jeffrey Klarik as a charcter named Fern, an old friend of one of the shows original members, MediaWeek.com reported Wednesday.

The new series is produced by Warner Bros. TV, and premieres Sept. 18.

"The Class" revolves around a group of young adults who meet up 20 years after having the same third grade class together.
