Stephen Baldwin book focuses on religion

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 5 (UPI) -- Christianity is the force behind Hollywood actor Stephen Baldwin's newest book, and the youngest Baldwin brother plans on following it with a VH1 TV series.

The 40-year-old actor, who gained fame from roles in "The Usual Suspects" and "Biodome," told The Book Standard his new book "The Unusual Suspect: My Calling to the New Hardcore Movement of Faith" and his forthcoming reality TV series will detail his strong religious beliefs.

Since embracing Christianity after the events of Sept. 11, 2001, Baldwin eventually formed his own "Livin' It" tour, which blends extreme sports with evangelism.

Baldwin said he hoped his upcoming book, due out on Sept. 19, helps people reconsider Christianity, and that the touring ministry he will form on the upcoming TV series will continue his efforts.

"I want it to be something where kids who are believers or non-believers can come to an arena and can have an entertainment experience that is just as fun as the other stuff out there, but you're going to get this positive message somewhere in the experience," he told The Book Standard.
