Princess Diana's butler releases new book

NEW YORK, Sept. 5 (UPI) -- Princess Diana's butler, Paul Burrell, has written "The Way We Were" about the years he worked for the British princess during her marriage and separation.

The new book, published by HarperCollins in New York, is a follow-up to "A Royal Duty," Burrell's 2003 bestseller. It provides details about the many years he served her at Highgrove and Kensington Palace, a press release from HarperCollins said.

Burrell's book also delves into the Princess of Wales' relationship with Dodi Al Fayed, as well as the man she referred to as "the One."

"The Way We Were" paints an intimate portrait of daily life at Kensington Palace, including previously unseen photographs of the palace interior, the publisher said.

HarperCollins called Burrell's book, "a final gesture on his part to ensure that Diana's spirit, warmth and character is neither lost nor obscured, but revealed exactly as he knew her to be."
