LOS ANGELES, Aug. 31 (UPI) -- In the wake of CBS Corp. and Viacom's merger dissolution, TV producer Aaron Spelling's "Beverly Hills, 90210" and "Melrose Place" are set for release on DVD.

The DVD releases are the result of last year's dissolution that moved countless TV programs from Viacom's Paramount Home Video to CBS Consumer Products, which in turn determined the Spelling classics had never had a DVD release, said Daily Variety.

"With Leslie's blessing, we quickly scoured the library to see what hadn't been released," said CBS exec Ken Ross regarding Consumer Products President Leslie Moonves. "What caught my eye immediately was 'Beverly Hills, 90210' and 'Melrose'... We recognized these jewels had to come out post-haste."

After replacing certain featured songs in the series due to music rights issues, the company plans to release both DVD sets Nov. 7 and will also offer a combination deal of both series together entitled "The Good, the Bad and the Beautiful Pack," Variety said.
