Brooks & Dunn, Paisley lead CMA nominees

NASHVILLE, Aug. 30 (UPI) -- Brooks & Dunn and Brad Paisley had six nominations each as the Country Music Association announced CMA Award nominees in Nashville Wednesday.

Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood had four nominations each.

Brooks & Dunn, Chesney, Paisley, Urban and Rascal Flatts were nominated for Entertainer of the Year.

Sara Evans, Faith Hill, Martina McBride, Gretchen Wilson and Underwood were nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year. Dierks Bentley, Alan Jackson, Chesney, Paisley and Urban were nominated for Male Vocalist of the Year.

Vocal Group of the Year nominees are Alison Krauss + Union Station Featuring Jerry Douglas, Little Big Town, Lonestar, Rascal Flatts and Sugarland.

Nominees for Musician of the Year are Eddie Bayers, Paul Franklin, Dann Huff, Brent Mason, Randy Scruggs and Douglas.

The 40th Annual CMA Awards ceremony, scheduled for Nov. 6 at the Gaylord Entertainment Center, will be broadcast on ABC.
