NEW YORK, Aug. 29 (UPI) -- The widow of comedian Rodney Dangerfield has filed suit in New York federal court claiming she is owed money from her late husband's club.

Joan Child Dangerfield suit seeks $2 million from Dangerfield's comedy club, the New York Post reported Tuesday.

Dangerfield's suit claims her husband owned 25 percent of the club but payments from his partner, Anthony Bevacqua, stopped before Dangerfield 2004 death.

Bevacqua's lawyer said the comedian sold his interest in the club in 1983 and is seeking to have the case dismissed on statute-of-limitations grounds.
