LOS ANGELES, Aug. 28 (UPI) -- The finale of FX's "Rescue Me," airing Tuesday, will include an appearance by the show's co-creator Peter Tolan as well as a visit to Ground Zero.
For the viewers, the third season of "Rescue Me" wraps up on Tuesday but for Denis Leary and the other people behind the scenes of FX's hit drama, the work is beginning for the next season, the New York Daily News reported Monday.
"My brain doesn't stop working," Leary said during a conference call with reporters. "I haven't even told Peter some of the stuff in my head."
Leary wouldn't tell the Daily News specifics but said some of the ideas stem from the story lines developed this season between his character, firefighter Tommy Gavin, and his now-pregnant estranged wife, Janet, played by Andrea Roth.
In the finale, Gavin and his New York firefighting crew visit Ground Zero to pay their respects at the firefighters' memorial.
