NEW YORK, Aug. 22 (UPI) -- The "I" list of the 25 most important directors, writers, editors and cinematographers in independent film was released by MovieMaker Magazine in New York.
The names were gathered and selected from suggestions made by key members of the moviemaking community, a news release from MovieMaker reported.
Ten of MovieMaker's top 25 include: Jeremy Barber, agent and co-head of the Independent Film Packaging and Film Finance Department at United Talent Agency; Miguel Arteta, writer-director of "The Good Girl" and "Chuck & Buck"; Laura Kim, executive vice president of Marketing and Publicity for Warner Independent Pictures; Maryse Alberti, cinematographer on more than 40 projects, including "Crumb" and "Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room"; John Cooper, director of Programming for the Sundance Film Festival; Robert Hawk, independent film producer and consultant; Mark Pogachefsky, co-founder and co-president of mPRm, one of the industry's top film publicity companies; Tom Quinn, head of acquisitions for Magnolia Pictures; and Tim Palen and Sarah Greenberg, co-presidents of marketing for Lionsgate.
