LOS ANGELES, Aug. 18 (UPI) -- Teen actor Haley Joel Osment has been charged with misdemeanor drunken driving after an automobile accident in California.
Osment, 18, is scheduled to be arraigned Sept. 19 in Glendale Superior Court where if convicted he could be sentenced to six months in jail, The Los Angeles Times reported Friday.
Police say Osment lost control of his vehicle on the way home in La Canada Flintridge, Calif., on July 20. His car flipped over and he suffered a broken rib and a shoulder injury, the Times reported.
The district attorney's office is expecting Osment to voluntarily surrender. It will seek to have bail set at $15,000.
Osment was charged with driving under the influence and possession of marijuana while driving. He was also charged with driving with a 0.05 percent blood alcohol content while being younger than 21, said the Times.
