Oprah drops in at Rachael Ray's new show

NEW YORK, Aug. 17 (UPI) -- Oprah Winfrey surprised chef Rachael Ray and her TV studio audience in New York, stopping by unannounced to visit and tape segments for the show.

Winfrey -- whose company, Harpo, is co-producing "Rachael Ray" with King World Entertainment and Scripps Networks -- is helping launch the new show with the best-selling "30-Minute Meals" author and Food Network chef.

Ray's hourlong show is not aimed particularly at food show fans, but is geared toward anyone who wants to live better, "Entertainment Tonight" reported.

"Rachael Ray" debuts the week of Sept. 8.

After seeing Ray on the set of her new show, Winfrey took off for Africa where she is building a new school to educate girls.
