One last special on CBS for Dan Rather

Aug. 17, 2006 at 2:39 PM

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 17 (UPI) -- Dan Rather, the former "CBS Evening News" anchor, will appear on the network one last time in an interview done for an updated special on his career.

"Dan Rather: A Reporter Remembers" will air Sept. 1, said the Hollywood Reporter Thursday.

The hour- long special will add to the views expressed in the first retrospective of Rather's career that aired on March 9, 2005, only an hour after he left the "CBS Evening News" for the last time.

The new interview was done last week at an off-site location that "48 Hours Mystery" uses for its interviews, not at CBS News headquarters.
