Duff: 'Material Girls' not based on anyone

NEW YORK, Aug. 16 (UPI) -- Hilary Duff denies the characters she and her sister play in the new U.S. comedy "Material Girls" are spoofing any real actresses or heiresses.

"It's not based on anyone at all whatsoever; it's based on the idea of what girls like this could be, but not actual girls," Duff said.

She was also quick to add the limelight-loving, spoiled rich girls they play bear little resemblance to who she and her sister actually are.

"These girls aren't really like us in real life. They are in the fact that they are really close and they are sisters, but they are magnified and they love being in the public and they love attention and so it is kind of poking fun of what everybody thinks some people are like," Duff said.
