NASHVILLE, Aug. 15 (UPI) -- When the International Bluegrass Music Awards take place in Nashville, Allison Krauss and Union Station will have the most attempts at an award.

A IBMA press release said the country band garnered the most nominations for the Sept. 28 awards ceremony, with Krauss receiving a Female Vocalist nod and her band mate, singer Dan Tyminski, among the Male Vocalist finalists.

The band itself has been nominated in a variety of categories, including Instrumental Group of the Year and best Vocal Group.

Also getting a best Vocal Group nomination is Blue Highway, which also had nine other nominations, including Song, Gospel and Instrumental Group of the Year.

With the power of their "He Lives in Me" release, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver received a total of seven nominations, as did Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder, the release said.

The annual event will be broadcast over more than 300 U.S. markets and 14 foreign networks as well, the release said.
