Affair disrupts life of Mungo Jerry's King

TRURO, England, Aug. 12 (UPI) -- When England's Mungo Jerry member Paul King allegedly saw his girlfriend in bed with another man, he probably never thought his troubles were just beginning.

The Daily Mail said since the 58-year-old musician found out his longtime girlfriend Fiona Sweet was having an affair with the local pub landlord, he has been pressured to sell his home in the town of Lerryn and is due in court to face two assault charges.

Details surrounding the assault charges are sparse, but King has disputed the allegations, which claim the guitarist assaulted two separate people, the report said.

While he prepares to defend himself in court later this month, the former "In the Summertime" musical star is set to leave the uncomfortable situation that has arisen in the small town he retired to years ago.

Friends close to King have confirmed that he will likely sell his $1.9 million dream house and move away to avoid his now ex-girlfriend and her new lover, said the Mail.
