NASHVILLE, Aug. 10 (UPI) -- A Walk of Fame is being constructed in Nashville, from Schermerhorn Symphony Center to Music Row, commemorating some legends of country music.

Celebrities from the local music scene -- including Earl Scruggs, Sam Bush, Steve Cropper and Pam Tillis -- came out to hear Mayor Bill Purcel dedicate the new site Thursday, the Nashville Tennessean reported.

"This is exactly the right next big thing to happen in the City of Nashville," Purcel said. "It ties together all the things that we care so much about."

The first induction announcement is scheduled for November during the Country Music Association's Music Week.
