Zach Braff shares the spotlight

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 9 (UPI) -- NBC's "Scrubs" star Zach Braff helped two of his friends get their songs on the soundtrack of his latest movie "The Last Kiss."

When Braff signed on to "The Last Kiss," he gave songs written by Joshua Radin and Cary Brothers to director Tony Goldwyn, who said he immediately fell in love with them, the Los Angeles Times reported Wednesday.

Goldwyn put the songs into the film's soundtrack, and Sunday night at Privilege in Hollywood, it was the songmakers' turn to be in the spotlight.

As Radin and Brothers took the stage, another of their friends, actor Michael Weston, started screaming, "Cary Brothers!" followed by a series of very strange sounding cries, the Times said.

Northwestern graduates Braff, Brothers, Radin and Weston, who acted in both "Last Kiss" and 2004's "Garden State" with Braff, became friends when their paths crossed in New York a few years after graduation.
