LOS ANGELES, Aug. 9 (UPI) -- Former Will & Grace" star Debra Messing will star in the USA network's six-hour miniseries, "The Starter Wife."
The miniseries is based on Gigi Levangie Grazer's best selling novel. Messing plays a divorcee on a quest to redefine herself after years of marriage to a Hollywood studio head, Daily Variety reported Wednesday.

NBC Universal Television Studio is producing. Production begins in Australia later this year.
Messing has appeared in "The Wedding Date" and "Along Came Polly." She next appears in "Lucky You."
