LOS ANGELES, Aug. 9 (UPI) -- Actress Bryce Dallas Howard, the daughter of Hollywood filmmaker Ron Howard, announced in London she's pregnant with her first child.

At the premiere of "Lady in the Water," Howard confirmed to People magazine she was expecting a child with her husband, actor Seth Gabel, but added, "I can't talk about the pregnancy too much. I'm a little superstitious."

Howard, 25, and Gabel, 24, wed in June after having been together for five years.

The actress appeared in 1989's "Parenthood" and 1995's "Apollo 13," both directed by her father, although her breakout role was in 2004's "The Village."

Gabel is primarily a TV actor with roles on "Nip/Tuck," "The Closer" and "CSI."
