Roger Ebert undergoes minor surgery

CHICAGO, Aug. 8 (UPI) -- Chicago film critic Roger Ebert has undergone a minor surgical procedure while recovering from major cancer surgery, his wife said.

Chaz Ebert said the 64-year-old critic, who reviews films in print for the Chicago Sun-Times and on television as half of "Ebert & Roeper," underwent a procedure Sunday to refine blood vessel repair, the Chicago Sun-Times reported Tuesday. His vital signs were strong Monday as he recovered from the procedure, Chaz Ebert said.

The surgery caused Ebert's physical therapy, the next stage of treatment, to be put off for a few days.
