LONDON, Aug. 4 (UPI) -- The British Film Institute and National Film Theater are preparing to present an educational study focused on the films of slain U.S. rap star Tupac Shakur.

Allhiphop.com reported the 13-day London study will look at the rapper's films as part of its goal to offer an overview of the influential musician's legacy in relation to rap music, his fans and mainstream media culture.

Entitled "Tupac Shakur Reinterpreted," the event will screen some of Shakur's more well-received films, such as 1992's "Juice" and the rapper's final cinematic turn in the film "Gridlock'd."

"Reinterpreted" will offer those in attendance an on-stage debate titled "Tupac-The First Icon of Hip-Hop," featuring coordinator Jacqueline Springer and the rapper's first manager, Leila Steinberg, the report said.

The Web site said the event begins Sept. 15, two days after Shakur's fans worldwide will recognize the 10th anniversary of his death, and will run until Sept. 28.
