Ex-girlfriend Cruz saw Cruise's child

LONDON, Aug. 4 (UPI) -- Actress Penélope Cruz said at a London premiere that she has met Suri Cruise, the new child of her ex-boyfriend Tom Cruise and actress Katie Holmes.

People magazine said Cruz had only positive things to say at the recent premiere of her film "Volver" about the man she dated from 2001 to 2004 and his new child.

"I met Suri," said Cruz, 32. "She is really beautiful. She is really special. One of the most beautiful babies I have ever seen. And I am extremely happy for them. They are really happy and doing great."

Cruz's visit with the much-publicized child marks the most recent in a series of celebrity visits to the Cruise household since Suri was born April 28 -- with all visits resulting in glowing reports on the new baby.

The magazine said actresses Leah Remini and Jada Pinkett Smith both recently visited with the 44-year-old actor and Holmes, 27, and left extolling the child's beauty.
