NEW YORK, July 31 (UPI) -- The U.S. TV documentary "Life After Tomorrow" sheds light on the behind-the-scenes lives of the numerous girls who breathed life into Broadway's "Annie."
ABC said the upcoming show will focus on the experiences those girls faced during their moment as the famed musical character and how their departure from the role impacted their lives.
Many big names have filled the shoes of the world's most famous orphan during the musical's two Broadway incarnations, including actresses Alyssa Milano and Sarah Jessica Parker, as well as the documentary's creator Julie Stevens.
"It's hard, because you spend a lot of time trying to recapture that feeling again, or recapture that experience," said Stevens. "I have my own definition of what success is. And unfortunately, it happened very young."
Along with the pressures of succeeding, the documentary will detail the wild lifestyles, the demanding parents, the eating disorders and the troubles associated with leaving the role that many of the young women experienced in the past, ABC said.
