MANAGUA, Nicaragua, July 26 (UPI) -- "The Devil Wears Prada" actress Anne Hathaway is spending a week helping vaccinate children against Hepatitis A in rural Nicaragua.

Nicaragua tops the list of Central American countries for childhood mortality due to communicable disease.

"This has been an eye-opener for me. Even if I weren't an actress, I'd do it just to help," Hathaway told the Daily News.

Raffaello Follieri, Hathaway's boyfriend, asked her to help raise awareness of the work his Manhattan real estate firm is doing in the region.

"It's wonderful to be able to bring attention to the Follieri Foundation," she said.
