AUSTIN, Texas, July 27 (UPI) -- An Austin, Texas, art gallery was the scene of a daring art theft this week when an unidentified man walked out with a $12,000 Salvador Dali sculpture.
The Austin American-Statesman reported that the director of the El Taller Gallery chased after a man who had placed the sculpture, "Homage to Gaudi," under his shirt and fled the gallery, escaping in a car.
Gallery director Earl Stanley told the newspaper a new updated security system was being installed at the gallery.
