LONDON, July 25 (UPI) -- A poll conducted by a British amusement park has determined the greatest British heroes ever, with former James Bond actor Sean Connery taking top honors.

The Daily Mail reported that Thorpe Park in Surrey commissioned the poll to determine what 20 famous names would adorn corresponding seats on its new Stealth rollercoaster, and at the top of the list and in the front car is Sir Sean Connery.

For his attempt to improve school meals in Britain, TV chef Jamie Oliver came in third, while Virgin music mogul Sir Richard Branson and political activist Bob Geldof helped round off the top 5.

Other notable names on the top 20 list included soccer star David Beckham, who came in sixth overall, "Harry Potter" author J.K. Rowling who wrote her way into 12th, and the much-publicized Sir Paul McCartney who finished 15th, the Mail said.
