LOS ANGELES, July 24 (UPI) -- Elisha Cuthbert, who rose to fame on the U.S. TV series "24," is said to be prepared to assume the title role in the upcoming Hollywood film, "My Sassy Girl."
Daily Variety reported the 23-year-old actress is in final negotiations to play an energetic young woman who disrupts the life of a man living in a small Midwestern town in the Yann Samuell-directed film.
The film's screenplay, written by Vic Levin, was originally adapted from a romantic comedy created in South Korea.
After gaining popularity playing the daughter of Kiefer Sutherland's lead character on "24," Cuthbert has starred in a series of films, with the most recent being Frank Cappello's "He Was a Quiet Man" and the thriller "Captivity."
Variety said that "Sassy Girl," being produced by Gold Circle Films, is set to begin filming in New York on Oct. 16.
