Latin music label Disa sues Univision

LOS ANGELES, July 19 (UPI) -- Disa Records, a Latin music label, filed a breach of contract lawsuit against Univision's music division in federal court in California.

The suit claims Univision used "heavy-handed legal tactics" to avoid fulfilling a five-year contract, Daily Variety reported.

Univision bought 50 percent ownership in Disa Records in 1991 and agreed to buy the remaining half from the Chavez family of Monterrey, Mexico.

"Univision's inexplicable and irrational avoidance of its obligations to complete the sale of Disa LLC has left (the plaintiffs) no choice but to file this action," the lawsuit states.

Univision did not comment.
