LOS ANGELES, July 19 (UPI) -- The creative talents behind ABC's "Lost" and "Desperate Housewives" will be more involved in the series' in the upcoming U.S. television season.
Marc Cherry will return to write and run "Desperate Housewives" in the upcoming season, he took a break at the beginning of last season but picked it up again about half way through, the New York Daily News reported Wednesday.
"Everyone, including Marc, admitted that at the beginning of last year ('Desperate Housewives') stumbled a bit," said Stephen McPherson, the network's head of entertainment.
ABC will also have J.J. Abrams' full attention on "Lost" this year. He was distracted from the show last year because he was directing Tom Cruise's "Mission: Impossible III."
"We're really excited to have him back full time this year," said McPherson. "We lost him to 'M:I 3' last year. This year, it won't be a factor at all."
